SSSC back on the top step at the prestigious Southport 24hr race!

After a short hiatus, South Staffs are back on top step of the podium crowned winners of the prestigious West Lancs Yacht Club Southport 24 hour race.

The race started in challenging, gusty, conditions with the wind dropping to a dead calm around 1am, providing the sailors a new challenge. But South Staffs proved they can sail well, whatever the conditions, coming out on top of a fleet of 78.

South Staffs B didnt let the side down either- with a very creditable 19th place!

Off the water there was a great, supportive, vibe at lake side and great socials. Topped off, in SSSC-tradition, with a dunking for the Commodore!

Well done all involved, sailors, supporters and a big thanks to all our well-wishers who couldnt make the trip this year.
