University of Birmingham Old Joe Event!
Last weekend we welcomed around 100 sailors and visitors to the club as we hosted the Nautica University of Birmingham Old Joe Team Racing Event. The weekend was met with strong gusty winds and big parties as 78 races were sailed over the two days against 13 teams! Congratulations to Rutland Raiders for winning the event! East Fife in second, and West Oxfordshire SC in third rounded off the podium. Especially

SSSC Sailor wins in Medemblik!
A massive congratulations to SSSC sailor Andy Davis for winning the highly competitive OK Spring Cup in Medemblik, Netherlands last weekend! And well done also to members Ed Bradburn (6th), Neil Goodhead (29th) and Ollie Goodhead (44th)! The racing was tough (as always!) in particularly windy conditions with a 46 boat fleet. Well Sailed! Another Competitive Solo Open!
South Staffs SC welcomed visitors from across the region for round 2 of the Allen Solo Midland Series. Nine local boats were joined by thirteen visitors from as far as Northampton, Budworth, and Ogston making up a healthy turnout of 22 boats. Super Close Firefly Open!!
Well sailed to everyone who competed in Saturday's Firefly Open where there were 15 entries with a large and extremely high quality travelling contingent! Lark Open 2024
On Saturday 18 boats joined us for our annual Lark Open Meeting sponsored by Craftinsure! Large shifts and gusty conditions challenged our sailors and left very little room for error, so a massive congratulations to Stuart & Nick Hydon from Shustoke Sailing Club for winning the event, and also to Ed Bradburn & Holly Evans (SSSC), and Chris and Nic White (SSSC) for claiming the other medals! SSSC Sailor Places Well at RYA Youth Nationals!
Over 300 of the UK's best young racing talents battled it out in tough conditions at the 2024 RYA Youth National Championships, held at the Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy during the Easter break (1-5 April). The annual celebration of youth racing is open to a range of sailors, from those experiencing their first season in the youth classes as well as those vying for the podium spots and a chance of selection
