PROVISIONAL - Powerboat RYA Level 1

COURSE WILL ONLY GO AHEAD IF WATER LEVELS SUFFICIENT

The aim of Power Boat Level 1 is to provide a practical introduction to boat handling and safety in powerboats. It covers boating techniques for launching and recovering a boat from a road trailer, mooring, everyday boat handling and the use of safety equipment. The course is conducted in both planing and displacement boats and the certificate issued will be endorsed to show the type of boat in which the training took place. A one day introduction to Powerboating with no previous experience required. Participants must be fully paid up members of SSSC and no less than 16 years of age.

£30.00 Charge for course materials, no further charge for Power Boat Level 2 and Safety Boat Course unless replacement materials are required.

This ticket covers the 1 day course, including the use of club boats and all course materials, no further charge will be made for Power Boat level 2 and Safety Boat course unless replacement materials are required.

The course will run from 9:00am to approx. 4:00pm and will include both theory and practical. Please ensure you have appropriate attire for the conditions including waterproofs and soft soled shoes. Bouyancy aids will be provided where necessary. Much as we like to encourage our junior members this course is run to ensure the club has adequate powerboat trained members to provide safety cover for our on the water activities and as such a level of maturity and physical capability is required. For this reason the course is limited to fully paid up members of SSSC no less than 16 years of age.
