COVID-19 Update

The Club is moving to Covid Level 2 restrictions along with the rest of Staffordshire. We can still sail but there will be changes inside the clubhouse. Members are asked to be very careful with social distancing to keep themselves and others safe and a face mask must be worn at all times inside the clubhouse.

The situation around covid restrictions is changing and we will keep you up to date with developments.

Sign on
Thank you to everyone for using the new electronic sign on procedures, this is a real help for those on duty on a Sunday and vital for track and trace which is now more important than ever. We will give a gentle reminder if you forget but because of the increased risk we may have to invoke club disciplinary procedures for a minority who persistently forget.

Galley and Bar
As a result of the new restrictions you cannot mix or sit at a table with anyone from another household inside the clubhouse. This will mean changes for the bar and galley from Sunday onwards. These changes are still being worked on and members will be informed of the changes as soon as possible.

Use of the toilets in the changing rooms will continue as in past weeks. Enter via the front of the clubhouse and leave via the side doors please.

Changing Rooms
The club is following RYA Guidance that allows us to open as a sports gathering. This has meant a lot of work by volunteer members making physical changes to the changing rooms and structure of the clubhouse. The work is not fully completed but we are in a position to open the changing rooms after the first race this Sunday. Changing rooms will not be available before racing as you should come ready to sail.

The RYA guidance is that changing rooms should only be used when it is essential and for disabled members or members with special needs. If possible members should still come dressed ready to sail or change in their cars both before and after sailing. There is an increased risk inside changing rooms and so members who do need to use them should be as quick as possible. There are no showers available at the club. If it is essential for you to use the changing rooms there is a maximum of 16 individual spaces in the gents and 12 individual spaces in the ladies. There will be a new system in place to manage entry in the coming weeks but for this weekend members are asked to tell the beach master when they go in and when they have finished. The beachmaster will tell you if they think there is space available. You can go in to the changing room from the front of the clubhouse and leave via the side doors. If when you enter there is no individual space available you should immediately leave via the side door and go back round to wait outside at the front of the clubhouse, please do not wait inside the changing rooms. Please wipe down your individual space with the sanitiser available.

No equipment or bags can be left inside the changing rooms, you must take all of your belongings back to your car when you are not actually using the changing room.

Lockers - members can use lockers for car keys, if you cannot keep them safe in another way.

Tuesday Social Evening
Unfortunately with the move to Level 2 restrictions Tuesday Social Evenings will stop until we return to Level 1.
