RIB Challenge Champion Becomes Powerboat Instructor
Double Honda RYA Youth RIB Challenge winner qualifies as a RYA Powerboat Instructor.
Kamila was 11 years old when she joined South Staffordshire Sailing Club in 2011. After attending the club members training and assessment day for junior powerboating, it was clear Kamila was very talented with excellent co-ordination and engine control. She was always keen to learn and never put off by any difficulties. With the expert tuition provided by Steve Troke and Robin Harper she went on to win the Honda RYA Youth RIB Challenge twice, and was the first person to successfully defend the Champion of Champions Trophy!
During her training, she recognized the support she had received from the Club and always felt that she wanted to put something back to repay that. On the 17th March she achieved the first part of that aim and qualified as an RYA Powerboat Instructor. She will now join a dedicated team of club instructors who give their time voluntarily to train club members as powerboat drivers, and to enable them to act as safety boat crews in support of the club race programme.
Well done Kamila, fantastic achievement. The Club looks forward to you passing on your skill and knowledge to others.
